Valerie grew up in rural Birdsboro, PA, but always had her sights set on bigger and better things. She was always involved in some sort of music group growing up, whether it was band, chorus, church choir, community choir, jazz band, a capella groups, solo performance, or coffeehouses and open mics. You could safely say that music is a huge passion of hers.
She has formal training in music theory, ear training, sight singing, and composing from her studies and BM in Music Education degree from Elizabethtown College '05. She was even awarded the Theodore Presser Scholarship for outstanding achievement as a music major her junior year! Not only does Valerie Nicole sing, but she also writes her own original material, plays acoustic guitar, and plays keyboard. Flute was actually her instrument of study at Etown, so you might not be surprised to hear some flute mixed into her upcoming full-length cd down the road.
Valerie Nicole's sound is sweet and soulful, yet powerful. She performs originals and covers primarily in the pop, rock, and country genres. You can check out her songs, event calendar, news, purchase her cd, and more at www.valerienicole.net or www.myspace.com/valerienicole7
