Dear Music Lovers,
My music is an eclectic mix of many forms of music but it is essentially a combination of Pop, Rock and Jazz. I love playing the guitar and singing, but most of all I enjoy writing songs. Lyric writing is especially important to me and is the most enjoyable part of my music. I've always loved music and it is still a big part of my enjoyment in life.
I’m a fan of Rock, Pop and Jazz greats like Al Jareau, Jimi Hendrix, Michael McDonald, The Doors, Peter White, Cream, Lionel Ritchie, Jeff Beck, Rolling Stones, Miami Sound Machine just to name a few. Other music that has influenced me over the years includes blues, folk, Latin, country and various great classic-rock bands of the past and present.
I can play a number of different guitars types (and a banjo) that include the acoustic 12-string, semi hollow-body electric and standard six-string. My favorite though is the six-string classical cutaway. I can use a flat pick to play, but I like finger-style picking better.
I got started playing the guitar in college when my two roommates played and I was forced to listen. I decided to buy a guitar and teach myself to play so I could join in. Later I was interested in joining a band but my engineering career came first.
In 2004 I decided to get back into music, mixing guitar and jazz and doing my own recording. After playing the guitar off-and-on for many years , I hoped others would enjoy my music with my debut jazz guitar album ELECTRICITY.
This first jazz CD is a blending of my love of the guitar with my love of smooth jazz. The somewhat odd track names reflect the words commonly used in my day job as an electrical engineer.
One year later I published my next CD SEEKER which includes a lot keyboard action along with the guitar to give it a different sound.
Not long after that I recorded a kid's CD under the pseudonym "Dr. G-Dad" that has 14 traditional songs like Bill Bailey along with three original songs of mine.
My latest vocal CD, "Your Love", is an original mix of Pop, Rock, and Jazz with original lyrics from the heart, I hope you enjoy it.
Another Music Lover,
Fred Christoffer
